DeCA withdraws Freedom’s Choice raspberry preserves due to potential presence of mold
The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) is withdrawing Freedom’s Choice Raspberry Preserves due to the potential presence of mold, according to an Aug. 21 recall notice from the Defense Commissary Agency’s food safety office. A withdrawn product does not present food safety risks, only quality concerns.
DeCA has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA Headquarters and Support Center at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
